The latest guidelines with regards to attendance at Thanet Crematorium are as follows, seating inside the Crematorium Chapel with Social distancing is a maximum of 34, and 30 mourners may stand outside. The waiting room will remain shut until further notice and the outside speakers will be turned on but the outer doors will remain shut during the service. Members of the outside congregation will NOT be able to pass through the chapel at the end of the service. Face Masks are still mandatory in all of our chapels. Sanitizing stations will still be in situ and are encouraged to be used.
The Chapel is a one way system, so entry via the main doors at the front and exit via the side door, as from Monday there will be a one way system across the front lawn from the car parks to a waiting area for the next service. An area on the lawn will be cordoned off for an outside congregation to stand safely away from traffic. Cones will be placed in front of the lawns so that no cars can park in front of the congregation or interfere the sound when leaving.
Also the number of people permitted at a wake or commemorative event, such as a stone setting or ashes scattering, will remain as per the roadmap, which increases from 15 people to 30 as of 17th May 2021.
NOTE: At Barham Crematorium there has been no change to their attendance numbers, these remain at 23 mourners inside the Chapel and none outside.
